What magazines or books do you read specifically related to home building?
I read Fine Homebuilding regularly. I tried Builder magazine for a while, but it seems to be geared to the large volume builders. I tried Dwell magazine for a while. It has some very interesting ideas. I regularly read Architectural Record.
I have recently acquired two of Sarah Susanka's books: The Not So Big House and Creating the Not So Big House. Both have many ideas for designig houses.
I have a copy of Small Homes from FineHomebuilding.
Do you have any other books that you would recommend?
My primary interest is in residential design and construction. I also have an interest in other architecture, particularly in small town architecture. I have travelled extensively throughout the USA observing architecture from vernacular rural examples to skyscrapers in various cities nationwide.
